The Segrino's lake is a small subalpine lake of glacial origin in Lombardy, near Como, located between the towns of Canzo, Longone to Segrino and Eupilio. It is believed that its name derives from the Latin or Fons Sacer, or Sacred Source, and then transformed with time inSacrinum Segrìn (in local dialect). It is famous for the quality of its waters and its happy and peaceful location.
Today the lake is a protected area called Parco locale di interesse sovracomunale Lago del Segrino managed by a consortium between the Comunità Montana del Triangolo Lariano and the municipalities of Canzo, Longone al Segrino and Eupilio.
Along the whole perimeter of about five kilometers leads a pedestrian, protected cycle circuit and the lake is a fishing reserve, which NEEDS specific permits.
